Graphic: How the Public Campaign Fund has reduced the role of private money in elections for the N.C. Supreme Court
     
 


The Public Campaign Fund was first used in the 2004 election. The following chart shows how the program impacted fund raising in that year's election for the N.C. Supreme Court, when compared to 2002 -- the last election cycle where public financing was not an option in these races.

This graphic from Justice at Stake shows the reduction in attorney contributions to NC Supreme Court candidates, and the rise of public financing in these races.
